Free introduction to robotics for the youngest children
“WRO Starter” is WRO Switzerland’s robotics offer for the youngest. We offer a course in which children aged 6 to 10 can gain their first experience with a Lego robot. The aim is for the children to take part in the starter category competition.
General information
- For girls and boys from 6 to 10 years old
- No previous knowledge required
- Programming with image blocks
- Robotics sets (Lego Spike Essential) can be borrowed for a deposit of CHF 50
- Participation in the course and the competition is free of charge
- Registration for the course for each child via the registration link at the bottom of the page. Registration for the competition takes place during the course
The competition
- An exciting task: among other things, the robot has to rescue a deer from a forest fire and bring a sea turtle to safety.
- For teams with 2 or 3 children – If you already have a partner, you can register together. Otherwise you can find a partner at the courses.
- Support from a coach (parent, teacher, other person over the age of 18)

Course
The course consists of four parts that build on each other. We therefore recommend that you attend all dates.
- Saturday, March 23 2:00 – 4:30 p.m.: Introduction 1st part
- Saturday, April 6, 14:00 – 16:30: Introduction 2nd part
- Sunday, April 21, 2:00 – 4:30 p.m.: Competition preparation 1st part
- Sunday, April 28, 2:00 – 4:30 p.m.: Competition preparation 2nd part
